Reminder, Book Club this Week!

Hello Fellow Readers,

Reminder: Blue Sky Book Club meets this week, Thursday, April 23rd, at 7:15 pm in the loft at Blue Sky Restaurant. Virginia B. will lead the discussion about These is my Words, by Nancy E. Turner.

This time, Deb, the manager of Pages Books will join the group, since an unforeseen schedule conflict has come up for me. She should arrive by 8pm because her schedule is crowded. She has read so widely, that her input for future book selections will be very valuable.

Several members asked about meeting for dinner before the book discussion. All of you are encouraged to come early for dinner (any month!) probably by at least 6:30pm. Always feel free to bring spouses, friends etc. who are interested in books, to our meetings.

These is my Words was such an enjoyable read, that I am really sorry to miss the discussion. Our book for May 28th will be The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I'll moderate that discussion.

Blue Sky Club Update

Hello Fellow Book Lovers,

These is My Words seems an exciting choice, I'm reading daily!

Oops! Last Blog entry, the wrong discussion leader was listed... Virginia B. is the leader planned for the book discussion to be held Thurs, April 23 at 7:15pm.



Some members have talked of trying to have dinner or appetizers at Blue Sky before the Club meeting. Anyone is free to arrive early enough to eat... maybe 6:30 or earlier. And/Or possibly appetizers could be ordered before the meeting to have upstairs in the loft. That will be up to the group to consider.



Our book for May 28th will be The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I'll moderate that discussion.



Please work on ideas for the forthcoming book selections.

Great Discussion Thursday!

Fellow Thursday Readers:
We certainly had a full & lively discussion about Shadow of the Silk Road! Thank you all for your opinions and insights, and thanks to Marie for successfully leading the discussion. I was impressed that new member Philip brought additional books covering the topic in a different way!
To hear passages read aloud was very special and relaxing. It was wonderful that some participants were very positive about the book, and others had less praise. So much interesting discourse from the group discussion occurred in just an hour!
Through this blog, you can suggest books as future selections for April, May, etc. Please think about various genres, including non-fiction, current events, personal growth, etc.
